TAKAOKA COPPERWARE is a traditional Japanese craft primarily made from copper and alloys. This technique, with a history of over 400 years, originates from Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture. It is known for creating a variety of decorative and functional items such as Buddhist altar equipment, tea utensils, and flower vases.
This is an incense burner featuring a chrysanthemum motif in metalwork crafted by the traditional craftsman Kosai Sano. It is a very popular item due to its elaborate design.
Despite some discoloration and rust on the metal due to aging, it is considered to be in relatively good condition.
