Uruaçu is an iron meteorite of the IAB group and is structurally a course octahedrite.
Uruaçu was first discovered in 1992 when several masses were found by cattlemen
in Goias, Brazil. Later an 18 kg mass was found by miners prospecting for gold.
Other masses have been recovered since.
The Uruaçu is very attractive and this offered piece has been very finely prepared to
show off the beauty of this meteorite.
Uruaçu is also an official meteorite name. There is no official abbreviation for it.
