Many photographers have struggled to achieve a balance between "commercial" and "artistic" creative activities. Kishin Shinoyama is probably one of the most successful photographers in the postwar world of Japanese photography. Although he is generally known for his childlike photographs and gravure nudes by Kuriyama Chiaki and others, in the early 1970s he also left behind many works that are regarded as masterpieces in the art photography world, such as "Olele Olara" (1971), "House" (1975), and "A Fine Day" (1975). This book, published in 1991, is a collection of photographs of actress Kanako Higuchi, one of the pioneers of the hair nude boom of the 1990s, which was followed later by Rie Miyazawa's "Santa Fe," also photographed by Shinoyama (art direction for both was by Tsuguya Inoue). In the beginning of the film, Higuchi is portrayed in front of flowers with a melancholy expression on her face and almost no smile, but as she lies on a futon in a bare yukata and transforms into a coquettish atmosphere, we sense Higuchi's certainty as an actress and the moment when eroticism and beauty intersect. The cigarette in her mouth is also a definite feature.
