The Emperor doll is adorned with a shaku (a ritual baton) in the right hand and a decorative sword at the waist, while the Empress is elegantly posed with a twelve-layered kimono, a crown, and a fan. These figures are cherished for their vibrant colors, commanding presence, and serene expressions, which are thought to oversee and protect children's growth. Crafted with delicate gofun (crushed oyster shell white pigment) for their faces and hands, these dolls are a celebration of beauty and meticulous craftsmanship.
