In this lot we offer 4 vintage black monochrome traditional kokeshi. Different styles are represented in this lot, All kokeshi are signed by the artisans. The height is between 22cm and 31cm Kokeshi (こけし, in Japanese), are simple wooden Japanese dolls with no arms or legs that have been crafted for more than 150 years as a toy for children, now kokeshi are mainly collected by collectors worldwide. Originally from the northeastern region (Tōhoku-chihō) of Japan, they are handmade from wood, having a simple trunk and head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face.
