Toshiba 310CDS vintage laptop - Intel Pentium MMX, 32MB RAM, Windows 98 This laptop is a museum piece, a true collector's item. A trip down memory lane to a time where Toshiba was one of the leading manufacturers of high quality laptops. It breathes the atmosphere of the era, with its design, the software it runs, the way it functions. This machine has an Intel Pentium MMX processor, 32MB (yes that's Megabyte, not Gigabyte) of RAM, and the original 2GB hard disk has been replaced by a bigger 12GB one. This storage expansion was mainly necessary so I could fit the laptop with a huge collection of nostalgia - more than 700 classic DOS games. Just a few of the titles available: - Commander Keen - Duke Nukem - Quake - Lost Vikings - Wolfenstein - Lemmings - Doom - Ultima Next to this, the lot has been expanded in a few other ways, that should make modern use a bit less of a nuisance. Firstly, the laptop comes with an external PS/2 mouse. This is especially useful since the laptop only has a Trackpoint, and no trackpad. Second, the Windows 98 installation has been patched so that it supports USB Mass Storage. This means that you can connect USB memory sticks and hard drives (formatted as FAT32), even though this didn't exist back then in the late 90s. It makes exchanging files (for example adding more games, or exporting your savegames) SO much easier. A few notes: it should come as no surprise that the battery doesn't work anymore - it's 26 years old after all. Also, the CMOS battery has been replaced, but still the CMOS resets to it's basic settings after a cold boot. This has no ill effect however, and is unavoidable with machines this age. The laptop is in surprisingly good condition considering its age. It does have a few traces of usage here and there - just take a good look at the pictures provided. Last but not least: of course the original charger is included, and the laptop works like a charm on it. The lot will be carefully packed and shipped.
