Chinese porcelain bowl with carps, marked – China – 17th Century
On offer is a blue-white decorated Chinese porcelain bowl marked with stylized chop mark in double circle. Sturdy smooth decoration of carps and seaweed all around the bowl. Dark brown glazed rim (Jia Mangkou). This bowl shows clear 17th Century (transition) porcelain characteristics, such as the free style of decoration, the so called “chatter marks” between the foot rim, and some sandgrit at the foot rim. Marked at the back with a symbol chop mark in double circle. A Rare bowl made during the transition period between Ming and Qing. Hard to find! Provenance: From a private collection in Coevorden, Holland and Ye Hua Chinese Art.
Date: second half of 17th Century Shunzhi to early Kangxi ca. 1650-1680.
Size: This bowl measures almost 15cm across and 8cm in height.
Condition: Very good, excellent! No damage! No chips and no hairlines.
