Pair of wooden bust sculptures of a young balinese woman and man. Representing a bridal couple, an old tradition to offer these statues as a wedding gift. High quality carving in heavy hardwood. Bali, Indonesia 2nd half 20th century. Both statues are marked underneath with 19 Sedang. Statues produced by craftsmen in Jagapati, Angantaka and Sedang (JAS) villages are very famous. Heights 31 cm and 27 cm. Weight 2 kg each.
Condition: good condition with a restored tension crack in the man's head dress
