Antique Simplex Library Step Ladder circa 1900 With very nice cast iron hinges and iron cross braces and it has a rare locking metal support that is stamped "Self Acting Stop Patented No 6956". They have handles on either side so you can hold on for stability. In fantastic condition more stable than any modern ladder !!

Simplex Step Ladders were manufactured by Taylor and Wilson of Clayton, near Accrington Lancashire, a company that was formed in 1866. The company finally closed the doors of their Royal Mill, in Atlas Street in 1962
