Tessa Posthuma de Boer (Amsterdam, 1968) is a painter without a brush, a writer without a pen. Her images do not record reality; they grow from imagination — from worlds unfolding in silence, in light, in a kind of attention that feels almost tactile. With her education at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, her work is rooted in the tradition of the Dutch Masters. It is especially Rembrandt’s light that guides her — that soft, searching illumination which not only shapes form but reveals vulnerability. In Tessa’s photography, this light becomes an inner landscape where shadow and clarity gently meet. Her autonomous work — from atmospheric still lifes to introspective, conceptual series — moves between dream and reality. What appears fragile becomes steady; what is hidden comes forward quietly. Each image holds its own stillness, its own breath. Tessa’s work is exhibited regularly in the Netherlands and abroad.

    Endlich habe ich eines der Blumenstillleben ersteigern können. Das Foto ist wunderschön. Obwohl es wirklich gut verpackt war, ist es leider an der rechten unteren Ecke ganz leicht geknickt.
