Before the period of the ‘strippenkaart’ (a stampable card), the public transport chip card and the in and out check period, life was clear. You got into the bus and paid cash and received a fantastic document from the driver with all the information about the trip: the starting point, place of arrival, price, date, time, and whether it was a single or return ticket. Above that was a bus code. By moving the sliders on the device, all of this information could be stamped onto a unique ticket. In addition, all money received by the device would be registered and sealed with a counter registered and this is the amount that the bus driver would have to give in at the end of his shift. To summarise, this is pure transport nostalgia! The device is working properly and comes with a leather carrying strap and could be slid in and out of a stand that stood in the front of the bus on a tray by the driver. The punching tool for the return trip is also present, so that the ticket could not be used again. The machine still a pre-printed ticket roll from the bus company. Also the emblem of the machine manufacturer "Beckson" is on the machine as well as the name of the driver/owner "Hermens" Fare evasion was not an option with this machine! I think this would be a fun item for a bus driver.
