In 1981 Multitech (Acer) introduced their first educational computer on the market: the Micro-Professor MPF-1. This computersystem was based on the Zilog Z80. The smal printboard had a 1,7MHz processor, a calculator-like keyboard with 36 keys and a 6-numbers 7-segment LED display. There was also a 8255 Programmable Peripheral Interface for reading the keyboard and 4KB ROM and 2KB RAM in a 2732 EPROM and a 6116 RAM chip. There were also 3 empty IC-holders for memory expansion (EPROM or RAM), and 2 empty IC-holders for a Z80 Parallel I/O and a Z80 Counter Timer. De MPF-1 had a small loudspeaker, connections for a cassetterecorder and an area for soldering small electronic circuits. The case could be stored on a bookshelf. De MPF-1 was programmed in Z80 assembly. The manual gives many examples of for instance timers and games.
