The Technics SL-231 is a belt-driven fully automatic record player. This solid and heavily built turntable was produced in 1978. This type is fairly rare and is almost never offered. As you can see in the pictures, this item is in very nice condition. The player only has some very light signs of wear. The dust cover is also still in very beautiful condition and only has some light superficial scratches. The notches that fall in the hinges are also still in very good condition. The interior has been completely cleaned and re-lubricated. The SL-231 is a fully automatic record player: with a push of a button, the player starts and the arm automatically goes to the beginning of the record. The arm automatically returns at the end of the record and the platter stops. It also has a repeat function with which you can play the record 1 to 6 times or infinitely. So it is very easy to use! Of course, you can also choose to manually operate everything. Comes with the excellent Technics 270C cartridge and new needle. The adapter for 45 rpm singles is included. Nice quality RCA cables with gold-plated plugs have been mounted. Removable cartridge holder (headshell), suitable for a wide range of cartridges. Platter with strobe to precisely fine-tune the speed. Pitch control +/- 6% for 33 and 45 rpm. Runs very nicely at a constant speed. Aluminium platter. The chassis is on 4 vibration-damping feet.
