D'après Jean Goujon - Nyoces或Naiads無辜噴泉(巴黎) - 一對低浮雕 2 - 石膏 - 20世紀上半葉

Magnificent pair of plaster bas-reliefs from the Naïades or Nymphs after the work of Jean Goujon (1510-1572) from the Fontaine des Innocents in Paris. France, early 20th century Signature likely to be inside the frame, due to the fragility of the material not examined outside the frame. In very good condition considering its age with age-related wear (see detailed photos for condition). Not cleaned. Will be packed with professional material adapted to their delicacy and secured for shipment (Colissimo insured against signature). Total weight circa 4 kg The Fontaine des Innocents, built on the occasion of the solemn entrance of King Henry II to Paris in 1549, was originally a loggia built at the corner of two streets, with two arcades on one street and one on the other. Jean Goujon decorated it with light reliefs that evoked the nymphs of the waters, thus reviving the ancient tradition of the nymphaeum. The rippling of this marine world compensated for the low water flow from the taps. The Louvre Nymphs adorned the base of each arcade.
