A Chinese (Dehua) yellowish 'blanc de Chine' sculpture of Guanyin, ca 1950, ca 26 cm. high, 12.5 cm. wide and 10.5 cm. deep. The 'bodhisattva' wearing a long hooded robe and a breast ornament, seated in 'muktasana' on a lotus throne floating on waves, her left hand holding a 'ruyi', her right hand with a pearl, her face with serene expression, the pinned-up hair largely hidden under a hood with a coronet depicting the 'tathagata' Amitabhavan, the back with both square and gourd-shaped seal mark, very good condition.
