The company Henry Browne and Son was founded in the nineteenth century in Barking and London. The respected English instrument makers for more than 140 years made high quality compasses, ship clocks, sextants and such.
Sestrel was their famous brand name. In 1993 the company was sold to John Lilley & Gillie Ltd and SIRS Navigation, both companies in the United Kingdom.
