Background information:
J.P. Kayser & Son was founded around 1885. Originally they produced tin and they developed a lead-free tin under the trade name Kayserzinn.
The Chief Designer of the firm was Hugo Leven, there are also designs known by Olbrich. The company made besides pewter objects also items in copper and brass. The artistic significance of the products was lost with the death of Engelbert Kayser in 1911. He led the design studio in Cologne.
The condition matches the age and use. The usual signs of wear and tear such as scratches, spots, dents and patina formation especially in the copper decoration which has become completely dark but after polishing a small piece the red copper comes up again. At the bottom slightly dented on the edge. Please study the photos well for a good impression.
