Shipping: This locomotive will be shipped with the original packaging, and also very well and sturdily packaged and shipped. Mainline history; 60 locomotives of this 1100 Series were built in France during the 1950s. They were based on and derived from the SNCF BB 8001 locomotives (prototypes) and the BB 8101-8271. Prior to the delivery of the series 1100 some of the French locomotives did service in the Netherlands. The first electric locomotive in the Netherlands was the LNER 6000 nicknamed "Tommy". The four-axled locomotives of the 1100 Series were not known for their good running characteristics. With use on the express trains it was customary to really tighten the coupling with the first carriage to somewhat temper the hopping around. This series is now out of service. Various locomotives have been preserved. In 2003 the position was as follows: 1107 (NSM), 1111 (Picker locomotive NSM), 1122 (Work group 1501, will be readied for running again), 1125 (As per the 1122 in the NSM, Turquoise livery), 1136 and 1145 (With the SGB).
