The first electric kettle was shown at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago.
The kettle is made of pressed brass plate. Soldered and screwed. Tin on the inside. The glass holders are made of solid brass.
It was operated at 110 volts and had a power of 700 watts.
The stamped serial number is 45914.
Wesam-Werke – Weiss&Samek AG Berlin Wilmersdorf, Babelsberger Str. 41. This was a metal goods factory, stamping, turning shop, production of craft metalwork, later also manufacturing of lighting fixtures. The research in the Federal Archives revealed that the 1930 factory was probably discontinued in the context of the Great Depression, the land was sold in 1937.
A glass insert was replaced in the glasses. The kettle is oxidised on the back. Everything else is in very good condition. Unfortunately, the power cable is missing.
