For sale is a Prussian cavalry sabre M 1852 with the same number scabbard and sabre with the following data. The "Kavalleriesäbel M 1852", also called a “basket-hilted sword”, was supposed to replace the old “Blücher” sword from 1811. It was intended to serve as the standard side arm of dragoons, Hussars and lancers. This new basket-hilted sword was supposed to offer a better protection for the hand of the user.
