The contemporary records of the Dutch East India Company - VOC - include a lot of information about the Nanking Cargo.
The containing porcelain out of the wreck of Tall Ship “ Geldermalsen “ has been in Auction 1986.
Geldermalsen , built in 1746 , was one of the best sailing ships to China - return. She measured 150 feet long 42 feet wide. Captain Jan Morel (33) had British and Dutch sailors. The disaster of hitting a reef Monday 3 January 175 did her sink. Some members of the crew survived.
