Gorgeous and rare Thonet chair, no. 47, from around 1900. Designed by Michael Thonet. The chair has a frame in bent beech wood and a seat and backrest of bent plywood. The chair is marked with both a Thonet sticker/label and with a stamp/engraving in the wooden edge of the seat (Thonet Austria, see photos). The chair needs some attention, the sound seat has a crack and is loose. Otherwise the chair is in good condition considering its age and history of use.
