This beautiful piece was designed y Erling and Karin Heerwagen around 1980 on the island of Langeland, Denmark. Both worked as individuals in the workshop of famous Danish sculptor Bjorn Wiinblad in the 1960's. In 1968 they married and started their own pottery. Here they created a large variety of hand sculptured unique pieces from the very small to large life like figures, all unique and with an element of quirkiness and fun. The bird is a unique piece this sculpture has a mid blue slip glaze with brown oxide to the beak.
