Gilera - B - EXTRA - 300 cc - 1966
BACKGROUND HISTORY
The B300 was the very first twin-engine road bike by the Italian company, meant to replace the Neptune, the unsuccessful 250 cc born in 1946. Its engine was derived from the twin block which was set on the 150 type (born in 1952), improved thanks to some mechanical modifications. The original model was followed in 1957 by the more powerful "Extra" and the "Export"; the displacement was be reduced to 250 cc and the production almost reserved to export. In 1963, this version was revised and, the following year, the range was completed with the new "America" version.
