Remington Model 5 portable, very decorative, with original case.
The Remington is perhaps best known among the classical typewriters. Remington was a weapons manufacturer. After the American Civil War it ran into difficulty and therefore went on to produce typewriters. Initially, Remington only produced large desk machines, of which the Remington Model 10 was the most well-known model. From the 1920s onwards, Remington also started to make Portables on a large scale. The company fought through the crisis years with a seemingly endless variety of models. Remington’s production of typewriters came to a halt during WW2.
