A large, heavy and very beautiful sculpture of Christ depicted with a crown of thorns. The work is extremely detailed and refined by the sculptor Richard Aurili (1834-1914). Aurili was an Italian sculptor who worked mainly from Belgium and France. The sculpture has a bronze look but is made of plaster that features a green brown patina.
