Beautiful work by CJ de Vogel on oak panel. The painting is cleaned and nicely varnished. The artwork is fitted in a handmade frame by the well-known frame maker AJ Heijdenrijk. Ready to be hung immediately. It seems to have a professional restoration. That can be seen on the back of the panel. This is not noticeable on the front unless you look closely (see the detailed photo of the fence. There is a thin crack from top to bottom right under the pole of the fence). Cornelis Johannes de Vogel (Dordrecht 1824 – 1879 Dordrecht), Romance. CJ de Vogel was born in 1824 in Dordrecht, where he has lived and worked for almost his entire life. He was a student of the painter F. Verheggen and worked in the workshops of F. Lebret and D. Carlebur. De Vogel mainly painted Romantic landscapes, which were very popular abroad. Many of his works have been created in the vicinity of Ruurlo and Vorden in Gelderland. De Vogel was a technically very gifted painter, who also knows how to reflect the atmosphere of a landscape. This very spherical panel is a sublime example of this. He died at the age of 55 in 1879 in his home town of Dordrecht. The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam as well as the Museum Dordrecht have some of his work. Will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
