Decorative and authentic sword/dagger of the Salampasu tribe, Africa circa early 1935 With a wooden handle and a sharp thick steel/iron blade. The length of this sword is 57 cm. in a wooden sheath covered with leather and with beautiful decorations. Length of the blade is 41 cm. Largest width sheath is 9.5 cm. This tribe was notorious for their cannibalism! Last two photos with Salampasu warriors with war mask and such a sword. This sword has been brought by Society "the White Fathers" Missionaries for Africa. The whole is in nice condition. The leather sheath has some more signs of wear and a few missing parts.
