Antigua Casa Nunez is an old and well respected classical guitar shop in Buenos Aires. It was established in 1870 by guitar maker Francisco Nunez, who studied in Spain with the great luthier Salvador Ramirez. It was called Francisco Nunez guitar workshop until about 1940, when it was re-named Antigua Casa Nunez.
Nunez was an important personage in the Buenos Aires classical guitar world not only as a guitar maker, but also as a music publisher and music shop. He sold his own guitars out of the shop as well as guitars, of varying quality, made by other makers. Many great guitarists visited his shop including Miguel Llobet, Emilio Pujol, Juan Alais, Julio Sagreras, Pedro Quijano, and the child prodigy Maria Luisa Anido
