Imposing large Antique French mortar completely sculpted from French white-stone/marble, with hefty wooden pestle. Origin South Europe pharmacists or monastery mortar. Very decorative, aged and tough look. Beautiful colour with signs of aging and lived-in patina. Late 19th century South of France Mortar in very nice used condition, with minor signs of age. The wooden pestle is younger, late 20th century, and in very good nice neat condition. Look at the photos these show a clear picture of the condition.
