What a beautiful 1950s chronograph! Paul Buhre was one of the first watch companies in Europe. At first they were located in St. Petersburg, but in 1874 they decided to buy a watch factory in the Swiss city of Le Locle. Back in the days the Buhre factory produced gift watches, which the emperor presented to officials, foreign diplomats and prominent figures. The watches were also given as bonuses to officers in the Russian army. This makes me wonder who this watch belonged to! As can be seen, the watch is still in excellent condition, with hardly any scratches on the case itself. The dial is also still in original condition with a nice cream-coloured patina. It runs great and keeps time very well!
