The Aristona 6551 (SX6551/13) is a 1976 hi-fi stereo steering amplifier, made for the control of Philips motional feedback speaker boxes, but usable with any power amplifier. The Aristona is a Philips 551 (22RH551) with a more luxurious appearance. Nicer output meters. Sides and top rosewood wood veneer. A real vintage preamp from the 1970s. Overall, this 6551 still looks nice, with the strip on the front-top. Built-in preamp for magneto-dynamic pickup elements. Switchable physiology (6 modes). Switchable noise and rumble filters. Sliders for stereo balance, treble, middle and bass tones. Indication meters for the power issued. Monitor switch. Microphone and headphone jacks behind a flap. Connections 5-pole Din. Adapter cables to 2x tulip (cinch) plugs are included. The 6551 and the 551 were built in a period when Philips did not save on the quality of the parts. The power supply is adjustable on various voltages. Preference in NL is now 240V, especially in an environment with solar panels.
