Gaetano Sciolari - Boulanger - 地燈 (1) - Chrome Tubes Floor Lamp
Gaetano Sciolari, Chrome-plated Tubes Floor Lamp
Materials: Round base in chrome-plated metal. Five (5) long and thick chrome-plated tubes.
Silver-tipped lightbulbs.
The base resting on the floor is slightly oxidised.
Everything else is all right
It still retains the 5 original silver-tipped lightbulbs, as pictured.
Period: 1960s-70s - Mid-century modern.
Designer: Angelo Gaetano Sciolari (1927-1994).
Manufacturer: Société Anonyme Boulanger, Liegi, Belgio.
In the early 1980s, these lamps were also made in white-painted metal. In these floor lamps, the bulb holders are adjustable to allow the lightbulbs to connect well to the tubes.
In the 1960s, Gaetano Sciolari created classic style refined, futuristic and cutting-edge chandeliers. His design was clean and sculptural and the used materials, such as crystal and icy glass, shone with a voluptuously luxurious freshness. He also started to combine brass with chromium.
Gaetano Sciolari created lighting devices for Stilnovo e Stilkronen (Italy), Lightolier e Progress Lighting (USA), S.A. Boulanger (Belgium), Helestra and Leola (West Germany), Lyfa (Danimarca) and some other companies and, of course, for his Italian family business, the Sciolari company in Rome and Milan, where the whole lighting business of that period concentrated.
