This beautiful master violin is an especially beautiful Czech instrument made by Wenzel Hoyer, it is one of his most late works before his death in 1900. It was made in Schönbach / Bohemia and it bears the original label "Genaue Copie von W. Hoyer; Schönbach bei Eger in Böhmen nach Nicolaus Amatus fecit in Cremonae anno 16..". The glossy varnish is a rich oil varnish of an intensely shining bright golden orange brown color. The varnish that bears skillfully made antique touches and imitates the famous Cremonese varnish strikingly is of premium quality remains in great condition. The fine quality woods are fine quality fine grained spruce for the top, the two piece back of strongly flamed maple with matched scroll and ribs.
