Renault - Dauphine Gordini rally replica - 1966
Renault Dauphine Gordini (Rally replica) in newly restored condition.
This is a nuts ‘n bolts restoration; so the car has been disassembled to the last screw and all the bolts and nuts have been galvanised as well as various supports and lock catches, springs, etcetera.
All suspension parts such as arms, front axle, rear axle, etcetera have been blasted with glass beads and treated with an industrial epoxy coating.
All arm bushings, gearbox suspension rubbers and engine suspension rubbers have been renewed as well as all door rubbers and window rubbers.
The brake calipers have been overhauled and the master cylinder and brake discs have been renewed using DOT 5 (silicone) brake fluid, which has the advantage that it doesn’t attract moisture.
The engine and gearbox have been rebuilt by use of many Autobleu tuning parts such as big cylinder liners (of up to 904cc) and pistons, camshaft, intake and exhaust manifold and valve cover.
The cooling fin has been replaced by a temperature-controlled electric fan.
The exhaust is a NOS Abarth with a beautiful sound.
A 123 electronic ignition and electric fuel pump have also been fitted.
All this should bring the power of the engine up to at least 50 hp. For an exact tuning, the car will have to go on the power bench after the running-in period.
To be able to use the car properly in today's world, it has been converted to 12-volt operation. And the exclusive dashboard is equipped with a comprehensive set of instruments (as depicted).
The car has been painted in Renault yellow 2k lacquer and fitted with stainless steel bumpers and Cibié fog lights as well as period-correct decals.
It has exclusive alloy AWB wheels with new tyres.
All 6-volt parts, original seats and dashboard will be included as well as the unused stainless steel front bumper corners and supports.
The undersides and insides of the tubes have been treated with WAXOIL.
The restoration took place last year.
This is an exclusive and very striking car that will do well at any show or meeting.
The car can be viewed and picked up in Delfzijl, the Netherlands.
