Regulator Walnut Wall Clock -- JUNGHANS -- Germany 1890-1900
This is a rare 19th century German regulator wall clock, made by the Junghans Clock Company Germany.
It is in excellent condition, as pictured, with correct and Intact finials!
It has a beautiful walnut case, which measures approx. 74 x 37 cm.
The dial is a 2-piece porcelain dial with brass trim and centre ring and is signed "Junghans" in the Junghans Star trademark logo.
There are some light hairlines from age, overall good condition, as pictured.
The movement is a brass mechanical 8 day time and strike movement, which runs great and sounds magnificent! It is signed "Junghans" also "S700M" or "5700M", i don't know how to read it.
There is a coil spring gong chime which chimes once on the half hour and the correct amount of times on the hour.
This clock is key-wound and includes the large adjustable brass "RA" pendulum and winding Key. This clock runs and keeps good time.
Periodically was taken to master watchmaker to be oiled (mechanism).
I am told that this particular clock is not as common and it is very rare and hard to find.
