At the young age of 16, Eun apprenticed under his uncle, Kojima Nobushige, and at 27, he established his own studio, Kojima Seisakusho. Nobushige hailed from a lineage deeply rooted in Edo's traditional crafts, specifically the Sueji school, and the current second generation continues the legacy through "Ginkobo Kojima," crafting contemporary precious metal artworks using silver and gold. Kojima Keiun, a pseudonym adopted after receiving a character from the name of the Imperial Exhibition unjudged artist, Nakano Eisho, is renowned for his significant contributions to the metalworking art. In 1942, he crafted a 1/30 scale silver model of the famous Type 97 heavy bomber, a piece presented to the then Crown Prince (current Emperor). This masterpiece is preserved by the Ministry of Education for its technical significance. Keiun continued to receive commissions from the Imperial Household Ministry, contributing numerous precious metal artworks, including helmets, yachts, treasure ships, and airplanes.
