Mid-Victorian ambrotype photograph of a young girl, Mary Flint Belsey. Enclosed in the original gilt gesso frame. The ambrotype is trimmed with an ornate high-relief gilded border that is decorated with a floral motif.
Includes the mysterious message "I'm looking at you, Polly" on the back.
Taken at Margate, England in 1859.
