Macallan is a Scottish single malt whisky, produced by the Macallan Distillery near Easter Elchies House, in Craigellachie, within the Speyside region of Scotland. The distillery produces a range of ages: the most common being the 12-year and 18-year versions, while the aged 25 and 30 years editions are much more expensive and also rarer to find. Macallan Estate is a Single Malt Non Age Statement, without the declaration of how many years it's aged on the label, which is produced using barley from Macallan's agricultural holdings in the Easter Elchies estate. The uniqueness of this product lies in being distilled only once a year and presented in a beautiful packaging inspired by the Speyside landscape, resembling stone. On the nose, it offers warm notes of cinnamon, wood, banana, and caramel. On the palate, it's smooth and balanced between a subtle hint of citrus and the traditional richness imparted by aging in ex-sherry casks. It finishes with a complex and extraordinarily long finish, characterized by notes of vanilla, orange, and dried figs.
