A very impressive Ottoman Empire silver-metal ring. It presents a high-set round bezel with a lapis lazuli intaglio engraved with the image of a double-winged insect. The intaglio decoration potentially served as a stamp or a seal, illustrating a protective symbol or the heraldry of the owner. The bezel collar features a decorative band of granules and a crenulated border, making it reminiscent of a crown. The ring shoulders are decorated with a floral motif surrounded by granules. Good solid condition, wearable. Signs of wear consistent with age and use.
