These 3 Whiskies are issued from CASTAN Distillery : The history of Castan Distillery begins in 1941, 3 generations ago. Gilbert and his son, Jacques, were itinerant distillers, taking a traveling still through villages in Tarn and Aveyron in France, to distil the fruits of individuals. A practice that has disappeared, which forced Sébastien Castan, third generation, to reinvent the profession, and to focus on a new drink, in our latitudes, in the Tarn: whisky. He decided to build a fruit and whiskey distillery in 2007 with Céline Castan, his wife. This idea does not come from nowhere. Sébastien owns the land around the distillery. He cultivates different cereals in rotation, promoting the production of malting barley. The production of Whisky was an obvious choice for Céline and Sébastien. The first "Tarnais" Whisky was distilled in February 2010 and bottled in April 2013. The result is a coppery liquid, with aromas of spices, almond, cocoa and hazelnut. The cultivation, harvesting of the cereal, brewing, fermentation, distillation, aging and bottling are carried out at the Castan Distillery. Vilanova Terrocita Edition : This Single Malt, with peaty notes, is produced exclusively with peat-dried malted barley, which gives a smoky finish on the palate. The whisky is aged in ex-white wine barrels. It will appeal to those looking for a judiciously peated character. Ideal for purists looking for a whisky with an assertive character. Silver medal at the Paris agricultural competition* 2020 Vilanova Roja Edition : This whisky is a single malt, not cold filtered, bottled at 43% vol. Made from aging in ex-red wine barrels, this distinctive and distinguished whisky will appeal to apprentices and experts alike.
