Matured in a combination of bourbon and some Manzanilla sherry casks, it was produced for 'Ardbog Day', which was celebrated around the world on June 1, 2013. A rare collection of different Ardbeg styles where rich, salty whiskeys are balanced with softer, sweeter casks to create a dram with great depth and peaty complexity. In Ardbog we celebrate our peat roots in the swampy wetlands of Islay; The smoky sweetness of Ardbeg is intriguingly intertwined with salty, savory whiskeys that have slumbered undisturbed in rare ex-Manzanilla sherry casks, all for at least ten long years. Nose: sea ​​salt and brine with some dark fruit and hints of barbecue. Maple syrup, plum, orange, mint and more spicy notes with a hint of tomato vine. White coffee is produced. Taste: it feels like all the moisture is being sucked out of your mouth at first, but in a good way(!). Salt-crusted raisins, rich nuts, pickled onions. Sounds strange, but it's really fantastic!
