Verenigde Staten van Amerika - Official US Army Soldiers Tagalog (Philipines) and Cantonese - language guides - Infantry - Army - p.o.w communication - Funny cartoons - 1943
Up for auction is a nice and RARE 1943 copies of the United States Army Technical Manual TM 30-334 and TM30-340 entitled "Tagalog: A Guide to the Spoken Language" and "Cantonese'': A Guide to the Spoken Language''. The booklets covers many useful words and phrases, for troops in the pacific and in the CBI (China Birma India Theatre). The booklets have some black-and-white illustrations to accompany the instructional text; these booklets were issued to the troops just prior to the invasion the pacific, to facilitate interrogation and communication of/between such nationals, captured POW's that enlisted in the Japanese army, etc. The booklets have some minor wear (see photo's) but are in reasonably good condition for their age.
Nice official and rare!! set of USA Army language guides that will be a great piece for your WW2 collection!
