Cardhu will always be rare because the pot still method does not lend itself to fast or large-scale production. This limited production and its popularity in Scotland and England makes Cardhu one of the rarest Scotch whiskies available. The Cardhu distillery. modest in size, lies desolate and exposed amid the purple moors above the River Spey. Cardhu, with its walls closed to the outside world, has become a self-contained community devoted to the fine art of pot still whisky.
