Rare copy of this collection " The Fascination Ukiyo-e Painting " , complete set of 50 plates with the booklet ( 12 pages ) contained in a Gold card , all in a card box covered with violet pattern velvet with title ( English & Kanji ) with Gold letters. This opus is the most sought after by the collectors as it explains and shows all the begining of Shunga Ukiyo-e ( Erotic Woodcut ) in 17 & 18 th century with the first masters as Miyagawa Nagagame or Tanyu Kano ( real name Hidetada Tokugawa, was the master of the Kano School in 17th) The plates are printed on bistre card , each plate with title, author and original dimensions.,They are numbered from 1 to 50, The complete booklet ( Texts by K.azuhiko Fukuda, one of the best specialist of Shunga Art ) Each plate is explained, a complete history of the different engraver. The conditions stayed very good, the plates are excellent, the Gold card slipcase has scuffs and yellowed stains inside, The box has the velvet few worn on corners ( photos ) but stayed overall very good. The bottom of the box ( covered with silk threads incrusted ) has also yellowed stains, The booklet has some on the face and few at the back ( photos)
