Tea container made by "Hirano Goro (Keizan) 平野五郎 (桂山)," for Japanese tea ceremony called '棗 Natsume' with painting of Japanese willow, Gold Maki-e the Japanese method of gold plated. This is a striking example of Japan's lauded craftsmanship. Collectable one.
The sophisticated and intricate lacquer decoration contrasts beautifully with the elegant black lacquer background.
The main decorative element is a stunning gold Maki-e design depicting willow.
