A fine collection of 12 different pieces of jewelry from different parts of Ethiopia. All pieces have been well-used. The cylinder-shaped piece is worn around the neck and comes from the Lalibela-region. Made of low-grade silver. l. 42mm. The four metal rings (copper/nickle/low-grade silver ) were worn on a leather cord around the neck and are from the north-east part of the country. Mostly of Oromo-people origin. Diam.; 19-25 mm. Also the small amulet with bells is of Oromo-origin. Made of metal and 40mm. wide. The gold-coloured pieces are of Tigrayan origin from the Tigray region in the North of the country. Made of bronze and with a gold-coloured patina applied. The three round boxes are worn around the neck,( 28-33mm. wide), just like the gold-coloured neck-cross.( 45mm long). One gold-coloured ear-pin is added (23mm.) Finally a finely decorated ear-piece is presented, made of low-grade silver. (40mm. long). Also from Tigray. On these pieces some wear and tear is visible, due to their age and use. All items were collected in Ethiopia in the 1990`s.
