A fine Macedonian silver drachm depicting the profile head of Herakles, facing right and wearing his characteristic lion-skin headdress. he reverse displays the Greek god Zeus enthroned on the left, holding an eagle in his right hand and a sceptre in his left. There is an M monogram in left field. The Greek inscription ΑΛΕΞΑΝ∆[ΡΟΥ] is written vertically to the right of the figure of Zeus in the genitive case, which translates as, ALEXANDROY meaning ‘[the coinage] of Alexander’.
