An antique American silver-plated tilting lemonade pitcher on a stand, by the MERIDEN BRITANNIA COMPANY, MERIDEN, CONNECTICUT, ca. 1900s, in the Aesthetic Movement style, with an arched handle continuing to reticulated side panels depicting birds and flowers.
The item features a Floral repousse with birds and flowers, a tilt mechanism for easy pouring, and the original hallmark. It is a very nice antique item.
Measurements: cm 51 H x 29 D x 21 W; 20" H x 9.5" W x 11" D.
The Meriden Britannia Company was formed in 1852 in Meriden, Connecticut, as a manufacturing company that produced wares in Britannia metal. It became, for a time, the largest silverware company in the world.
The item is sold unpolished. The silver plating shows some traces of wear, and there is a dent on one side of the carafe.
