Thomsonite, on the other hand, is a member of the same group and typically occurs as pink to peach-colored aggregates. When messolite occurs on thomsonite, it forms delicate, white, fibrous coatings that contrast nicely against the peach-colored background. This type of specimen is known to occur in various localities in India, such as Pune and Mumbai, and is highly sought after by mineral collectors due to its unique appearance.
